  • Social Skill Groups are based on age and social needs.
  • There will be 4 to 6 students per group.
  • Skills are related to conversation maintenance, freindship, management, self-regulation, and empathy (Baker, 2003)
  • Strategies include: didactic teaching, social stories, video modeling, social scripts, and storyboards and games.
  • The social skill curriculum is based on The Social Skills Training Model (Baker, 2003) The Social Streaming Model (McGinnis & Goldstein, 1997) and specific skills that are developed for each Child

Each group session includes: structured lessons, social games, video modeling, role playing and parent training. To help promote generalization each student is provided with group lessons and DVDs demonstrating the skills.
